About Brake Hose

The ZS MG brake hose is the pipe system that contains the hydraulic fluid that is an integral part of the braking system. When the footbrake is applied the fluid is forced, via a master cylinder and brake servo system, through the pipes to the pistons in the calipers in each wheel, which forces the pads onto the brake discs, or the brake shoes onto the inside of the drums, and this slows the spinning of the wheels.

The brake hoses are made up of rigid and flexible pipes. The rigid pipe is usually made of steel and may be plastic coated and is fixed to the bodywork. It runs from the engine compartment under the car to each wheel. There is a flexible section that connects the rigid pipe to the wheel brake backplate and into the brake piston on each wheel. The flexible pipe is a made of rubber encased in braided metal.

Problems with brake hoses are commonly caused by corrosion or chafing resulting in leakage of the hydraulic fluid and resulting loss of pressure and brake failure. New piping is supplied pre-formed to fit every particular make and model as it has to follow a certain route and length. ZS MG brake hose is the ideal replacement, designed specifically for the make and model of your vehicle.

MG trivia

  • MG cars go through a rigorous testing process at the R&D facility, where they pass through a safety lab, thermal emissions lab, architecture lab, powertrain lab, and thermal wind tunnel lab before getting down to the real nitty-gritty of the testing process.
  • It’s still a British brand, but MG is now under SAIC Motor, China’s biggest vehicle manufacturer. SAIC Motor is one of the top-ranked Fortune 500 companies in the world, and exports more cars from China than any other manufacturer.
  • If you fancy trying out a more virtual MG experience, you can head to the SAIC Intelligent Plaza. The world’s only auto-driving experience that’s accessible to the general public, the Intelligence Plaza lets you play with VR test drives and intelligent robot butlers.
  • The current MG range is rolling out of the production factory in Shanghai at a rate of 880 units per day. The manufacturing plant is a whopping 1.2 million square metres, and had led SAIC Motor to sell a LOT of cars. In 2018 alone, SAIC sold over 7 million vehicles.
  • In 1931 the MG EX210 became the first 750cc car to beat the 100mph mark and managed 103.13mph. Nicknamed the Magic Midget, the EX120 took a few attempts to break that record, but it got there eventually.
