About Side Light

The Juke Nissan side light, as the name suggests, is located on the side of the vehicle and is paired with another front side light on the opposite side. The function of these two lights is to alert other drivers in times of poor visibility or in darkness, of the size of your vehicle so that they can judge the safety of overtaking the vehicle and also if they have enough space to travel alongside you on the dual carriageway or motorway. The Juke Nissan side light is also useful if a headlight fails, as it illuminates the side of the vehicle so other drivers know you are not a motorcycle.

These lights, are therefore very important, and it’s a legal requirement to operate these lights when visibility is poor or when you are travelling in the dark. Faulty bulbs should therefore be replaced immediately.

The Juke Nissan side light is only 5 watts, which is a lot dimmer than headlights, which means that it uses less fuel than the headlights. This is handy when parking somewhere temporarily, but you want to remain visible to other motorists and hazard lights are not appropriate.

Nissan Juke trivia

  • The latest Nissan Juke is the Acenta, which comes with a DIG-T 115 2WD petrol engine. It manages a quite impressive 50.4mpg and has a CO2 emission rating of only 129g/km.
  • The rugby player for Wales and Bayonne, Mike Phillips, is a Nissan Juke LHD owner and was seen driving the car when he featured in an S4C documentary. Former Darling Buds of May star Pam Ferris is also on the list of famous Juke owners.
  • A stunt driver called Terry Grant holds the world record for the longest continuous journey in a car while driving on two wheels. He used a Nissan Juke to break the record and managed to drive around Goodwood Hill Course on two wheels instead of four for 2 minutes and 55 seconds.
  • If a standard Nissan Juke isn’t enough for you, then there are two ultra-high performance options. The Nismo and the Nismo RS. Of the two, the RS is faster and more powerful, with 215hp.
  • You can personalise a Nissan Juke with what Nissan calls the Juke Colour Studio. The program lets you choose multiple colours and trim designs, and even has a preset selection of colour coordinated choices.
