The brake flexi hose is a short flexible hydraulic pipe on the wheel end of the brake system.
The system is constructed of rigid pipe, but when it reaches the wheels and there is movement i.e. the turning of the front wheels for steering, or to allow for the movement between the wheel brake assemblies and the suspension. The piping needs to be flexible to allow for movement.
The brake flexi hose is located behind the wheels connecting the rigid pipe system to the backplate.
Due to the high energy forces, heat, friction and stresses involved with the braking system in the area of the discs, drums and wheels it is of the utmost importance that all components are in good order.
