About Heater Direction Control Switchs
A vehicle’s Chevrolet heater direction control switch is positioned on the heater control panel and situated in the dashboard of a vehicle. Its function is to adjust the direction of the heating in the vehicle.
The heater inside the vehicle uses the heat from the engine, which is converted in to hot air and blown in to the vehicle’s passenger compartment.
When heat is built up in the engine, it’s transferred to the coolant, which is passed to the exhaust and radiator to protect the engine from overheating. The heater is attached to the radiator. When the passenger in the vehicle turns the dials on the controls the heat from the heater’s core is transferred to the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The driver can then use the Chevrolet heater direction control switch to choose where the heat is distributed in the vehicle.
It is important to make sure your vehicle’s heating system is working correctly, as a damaged heating system could indicate that the vehicle’s engine cooling system is also not working. If you notice the vehicle’s heating system is not working, then it’s important to get it checked as soon as possible to prevent engine damage.
Chevrolet trivia
- The weirdest Chevrolet experiment was the Chevrolet Turbo Titan II in 1965. This was the same year as the first US spacewalk, and the car has a real space theme happening. Most bizarrely, it didn't have a steering wheel and instead had two large dials so that it looked more like a games console controller or DJ desk than a car.
- Chevrolet holds the number one and number three positions on the list of America's most popular cars. Although Ford's Mustang is in second place, the Corvette is the number one car in the US, with the Camaro at number three.
- When it comes to stock car racing, it's hard to beat Chevrolet. As of 2015, they became the most successful manufacturer in the history of NASCAR, with 749 race wins and a staggering 38 manufacturer's championships.
- The Chevrolet Series C Classic Six was built as a prototype before the company even officially existed! The overlap is testament to how keen the company was to get going, and they quickly incorporated in time to unveil the car in New York.
- If anyone ever tells you that they own a 2006 Silverado Intimidator SS, there's a good chance that they're telling porky pies. This is considered to be the rarest of all Chevy trucks and was built to honour the memory of Dale Earnhardt. He died during the 2001 Daytona 500, and only 1,333 were ever sold to the general public.
