About Stub Axles

The stub axle is a short axle found on front wheel drive vehicles.

The axle is one of two rear stub axles that carry the two rear wheels independently on either side of the vehicle. The axle accommodates the wheel bearings which support the wheel hub.

The stub axle forms part of an independent suspension system on non driven wheels.

Problems occurring with the stub axle are commonly related to wear with the bearing and wheel hub causing the shaft to become misshapen, which requires replacement. The Honda stub axle is the ideal replacement part, specifically designed for the make and model of your vehicle.

Honda trivia

  • Some celebs don’t go anywhere without their Honda. Notable owners include Halle Berry, Gwen Stafani, Chris Pine, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
  • Honda vehicles have shown up in a few films, most notably in Pulp Fiction when an SL was used by Bruce Willis to drive into Ving Rhames. Tarantino used Hondas in Kill Bill too, so he’s clearly a fan! Most car lovers will also recognise the Honda S2000 that was used in the first two Fast and Furious films.
  • Honda’s first SUV was the Passport, and it proved so popular that it still gets regular updates and redesigns.
  • Honda sponsored the TV show Community when season 7 aired, and one of the episodes of the show has the community college Dean surrounded by Honda merchandise.
  • The Indy 500 race in America should probably just give Honda the cup to keep because they’ve won more races than any other car manufacturer.
