About Aircon Condensors

The car's air conditioning system basically conditions the air, which means whilst cooling the air in the car down, it also helps to ensure there isn't too much moisture in the car, so it stops the air getting too humid.  The car's air conditioning unit also cleans the air in the car by filtering the dust and other particles from the air inside the car.

The Jaguar aircon condenser, usually made out of aluminum, is situated in front of the engine's radiator. It looks a lot like a radiator, is usually about the same size or a bit smaller than a radiator and a bit thinner, and is sometimes referred to as the aircon radiator.

Hot gas or vapour is pumped from the Jaguar aircon compressor into the Jaguar aircon condenser where it is cooled and turned back into a really cold liquid which is pumped into the Jaguar aircon evaporator and flows into the car as cold air. This whole process is then repeated over and again.

If the air conditioning system is losing refrigerant vapour, it could be a sign that the aircon condenser has a leak.  If there is insufficient cold air it could be a clogged aircon condenser. Situated in front of your car's water radiator, the Jaguar aircon condenser is an easy target for corrosion and dirt which can cause problems with this part. Have a chat with your mechanic, and once you have established this part needs replacing, buying a new Jaguar aircon condenser will ensure you get the perfect for the make and model of your vehicle.

Jaguar trivia

  • Jaguar was bought out by Ford in 1990, but they didn't really capitalise on the investment. Eventually, Ford sold Jaguar to the current owners, the Indian company Tata Motors.
  • Talk about testing your car! Jaguars are put through a very rigorous climate test, where they are first tested in -40 degrees for twelve hours. Once that's done, the cars are then sprayed with water while standing in a 0-degree wind tunnel. That's why they cope so well with British weather.
  • Jaguar isn't a big name in F1, but they did have a go. They raced between 2000 and 2004 but didn't perform well enough to justify the costs. They managed a less than stellar ninth place in their final race.
  • To show off just how light the F-Pace SUV was, Jaguar built a loop and the SUV not only tackled it but completed the loop on its first go. The feat earned Jaguar a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
  • Transporting a load of Jaguars isn't easy. When being loaded onto trains, every car is driven by a driver that isn't wearing a seatbelt. Those drivers aren't allowed to wear belts, and they even have to get rid of any metal eyelets on their shoes. This is all to prevent the possibility of scratches, and what's more, the drivers aren't even allowed to touch the outside of the cars!
