About Boot Lights
At the rear of a vehicle in the luggage compartment of a hatchback or estate car, or in the boot of a saloon car there is a light to illuminate the area inside.
The Vauxhall boot light is activated through a switch which is operated automatically when the door or bootlid is opened.
The light is a small pop out unit which is housed in the interior trim in the area of the luggage compartment.
The bulb is normally replaceable. The unit may need to be replaced due to faulty bulb contacts or breakage of the plastic body which prevents the unit staying in position. The Vauxhall boot light will ensure you get a part that is compatible with the make and model of your vehicle.
Vauxhall trivia
- If you thought you were seeing mostly grey Vauxhalls on the road, your eyes aren't going funny. It's the most popular colour for Vauxhall cars.
- The Lotus Elise might seem like a far way away from the average Vauxhall, but they do have some matching parts. Alright, so it's nothing engine wise, but the Corsa does have the same indicator and wiper stalks that can be found on the Series 2 Lotus Elise.
- The colour yellow that Vauxhall uses on its cars is named 'Maddox Yellow,' after pensioner Richard Maddox had his Corsa vandalised. Residents of the small village of Arlington where Maddox lived thought the car and the colour were ugly!
- There’s a Vauxhall for everyone. They currently produce 21 different cars in three different ranges: the passenger car, the commercial car, and four different high-performance VXR models.
- They might be famous for their cars, but Vauxhall also has the claim to fame of being in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest GPS drawing! The 6080-mile Halloween art made national news!
