About Brake Padss
The brake pads are two pieces, per wheel, made of metal lined with a heat resistant material.
The Vauxhall brake pads are housed in the brake caliper which straddles the brake disc, one pad on either side of the disc. When the footbrake is applied the pads are forced hydraulically via pistons onto the spinning discs to which the wheels are attached consequently causing the vehicle to reduce speed.
Brake pads need to be renewed periodically depending on conditions and usage. Signs that the pads need to be renewed can include noise when applying the brakes and a deteriorating
performance of the brakes on some makes and models the pads incorporate a wire attached to the pad that sends a signal to a warning light in the control panel to warn of the need to check the pads.
Due to the high energy forces, heat, friction and stresses involved with the braking system in the area of the discs and wheels, it's of the utmost importance that all components are in good order. Replacing this part with the Vauxhall brake pads will ensure complete compatibility with the make and model of your vehicle.
