The new Jeep Renegade has been unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The introduction of the Renegade model is the first time that Jeep have ventured into the mini SUV market and this is a cute little vehicle which will certainly bring some competition into this already competitive market. The Renegade shares its platform with the Fiat 500X as both vehicles are produced by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The Renegade has kept in style with the boxy look of Jeep vehicles but combines this with an Italian interior design which is clearly inspired by their connection with Fiat. It has not been officially revealed yet as to exactly which engines will be used on this vehicle but it is expected to be fitted with Fiat MultiAir petrol and Multijet II diesel engines. The engine will be combined with one of the following gearboxes: the new Chrysler 9-speed automatic, two possible manual gearboxes and a DDCT (Dual Dry Clutch Transmission). Jeep have claimed that there will be as many as 70 advanced safety and security features which include: Park View, Blind-Spot Monitoring and Forward Collision Warning to name a few. If you want the best possible 4WD version then there will be a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk version available. This top of the range version will have several unique features including skid plates, hill-descent control and increased ride height for greater off-road performance. A starting price for the Renegade has not yet been announced or the exact release date but it will be available as a 2015 model from later this year at some point. The 2014 Geneva Motor show is running from 6-16th March. Do you think this vehicle will be a success?
