The Vauxhall Adam is a city car which is built on a shortened version of the SCCS platform which is used on the Vauxhall Corsa. The Adam was released back in 2012 for the 2013 model year. The name 'Adam' is named in honour of the founder of Opel AG, Adam Opel. This is a neat little city car which is expected to rival the likes of the Fiat 500 and Mini. There are three different engines available for this car: There is the new aluminium 1.0L Ecotec direct injection turbo petrol engine which is available in either 90PS or 115PS. These new engines offer a very low 99g/km CO2 emissions. There is the 1.2L 70PS ecoFLEX with 115g/km CO2 emissions or the 1.4L ecoFLEX in either 87PS or 100PS which has 119g/km emissions. All these engines come with Start/Stop technology. These engines are coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox but there is a new 6-speed gearbox available for the new 1.0L engine. There are three trim levels available for this vehicle: These are Jam, Glam and Slam. Pretty catchy names, but what is each trim like? The Jam trim level is fashionable and colourful; the Glam trim is elegant and sophisticated and the Slam trim is sporty and racy. This is a well designed car, which is not only stylish looking but is also very well built. It has a decent interior design which includes some really good technology. This little car has three doors and can seat up to four people. The starting price for the Adam is £11,255. What do you think of the Vauxhall Adam? Share your thoughts in our comments box below.
