Austin Mini Overview
The Austin Mini is classed as a small economy car and was produced by the British car manufacturing company Austin, which was part of the BMC (British Motor Corporation Limited). The BMC was formed as Austin and Morris merged in 1952. The Mini has been branded and produced under many different names including Rover, BMW and MG to name but a few. It was marketed under the Austin name and then Mini, and again Austin in the 80’s. These cars are British styling icons and are great little economical cars. They are fun to drive and look cool. Austin Mini History
The Mark 1 Mini (1959-67) was marketed under both BMC’s Austin and Morris names. The Austin Mini was first marketed as the Austin Seven until 1961, when the Mini name was first used. It was in the 60’s that this car was to become a popular iconic British car with appearances in films and due to its popularity. The Mark II (1967-70) was the version used in the Italian Job film. The Mark III was marketed under the Mini name itself, and the Austin name was dropped.
It wasn’t until the Mark V (1984-89) that the Austin name was used again and meant the return of the Austin mini in 1984. The Mark VI (1990-95) ended the use of the 1.0L engine and was the last version of the Mini to use the Austin name, to be replaced with Rover.

Over its life time the Austin Mini has had just a few different
