Fiat Tempra Overview
The Fiat Tempra is classed as a small family car which was produced by the Italian automobile manufacturing company Fiat. This vehicle was in production from 1990 to 1998 and was a replacement for the Fiat Regata. The Tempra is designed on the type 3 platform which is also used for the Alfa Romeo 155 and Lancia Dedra. These cars were very spacious inside but the build quality is not the best. There are not that many of these on the roads of the UK nowadays, and there were saloon and estate variations. The hatchback version was named the Tipo and was the more popular car in the UK. What was your experience of this car?
Fiat Tempra History
The Fiat Tempra was first introduced in 1990 as a replacement for the Fiat Regata. The saloon version was known as the Tempra Geneva and the estate version as the Tempra Weekend. This was the first mid sized saloon to be available with a CVT gearbox. The hatchback version of this car was known as the Fiat Tipo which continuing with popular tradition in the UK, was the more popular choice. The Tempra never really took off in this country. It received a minor facelift in 1993 which mainly affected the front grille design and other minor exterior changes. The Tempra was discontinued in 1996 to be replaced with the Fiat Marea.
