About Anti Roll Bars
The Mitsubishi anti roll bar is a rigid steel bar which functions structurally to prevent the chassis of the car from leaning and rolling too much when taking a turn or rounding a corner.
The Mitsubishi anti roll bar is positioned below the car body and attaches to the right and left hand wheel suspension with anti roll bar or drop links. Most cars have a front anti-roll bar which links the two front wheels and some cars have an anti roll bar which sits at the back of the car and connects the two rear wheels.
The Mitsubishi anti roll bar keeps the wheels in alignment when the car turns a corner, reducing the body roll of the whole suspension which improves the overall handling of the vehicle.
The anti roll bar itself doesn't wear but it can break or suffer damage in an accident. Over time the drop links, which link the anti roll bar with the rest of the car's suspension, will wear down, however, which can affect the handling and suspension. If the anti roll bar has been damaged in a collision, or you are fitting an anti roll bar into your car for the first time, it's important to install a part that's compatible with the make and model of your vehicle. Purchasing a Mitsubishi anti roll bar will ensure you get the ideal part.
Mitsubishi trivia
- Mitsubishi designed and built the first electric car to drive 2000 miles in under 24hours. This was in 1992, but it wasn't until 2010 that they released the i-MiEV, which quickly won the Most Advanced Technology Award. It was the first electric car to sell 10,000 units!
- A Mitsubishi Starion Turbo was almost as big of a star as Burt Reynolds after it featured in iconic chase film Cannonball Run II.
- The 'three-diamond' logo used by Mitsubishi is older than the car company! Not just by a few years either. It was being used by the Mitsubishi Shipping Company over a hundred years before they started making cars.
- Mitsubishi didn't just win the 1974 East Africa Safari Rally. They came second and third too! They've also won the Dakar Rally an impressive 12 times, with seven of those wins being consecutive.
- Mitsubishi didn't just break a record in 2011; they broke five in one day! In a durability test in Canada, they smashed records for the greatest distance driven in reverse on snow, the shortest braking distance on ice, the fastest vehicle slalom on ice, the fastest driven square lap, and the most vehicle figure eights on ice in two minutes.
